The World championship bbq cooking contest
one of the biggest bbq parties competitions in the country
The WCBCC, held annually Memphis, Tennessee, is the largest pork barbecue competition in the country. It brings together upwards of 150 teams from all across the globe to compete for the prestigious Memphis In May World Champion trophy. The competition has been taking place for 47 years, and Cattlemen’s has been a presenting sponsor for 30 of those!

McCormick is Competing!
For the second time ever, McCormick has decided to take a crack at the title of World Champion with a rebranded team “Bone Appetit.” This year, we’ll miss Senior Culinary Director, Executive Chef Kevan Vetter, but the team will be in the capable hands of Chef Jordan Carfagno, Principal Culinary Development Manager. Our chefs will compete in the Pork Ribs category and will be eligible to bring home the big win.
Competition cooking will take place in an open kitchen attached to the McCormick Hospitality Tent, so follow along as “Bone Appetit” hopefully advances to the Saturday finals.
The McCormick Hospitality Tent
Most of the weekend’s events will take place in and around the McCormick Hospitality Tent, at the WCBCC inside Liberty Park.
Shuttle transportation will be provided back and forth from downtown hotels to Liberty Park, and the tent is just a short walk from the main event entrance. Stay tuned for the competition team number.
Outside of scheduled activities, you will have ample time to walk the event grounds to soak up as much booze, barbecue, and blues as you can handle!
